JOB BASICS
The primary purpose of the Chemical Laboratory Technician's position is to perform assigned tasks, including but not limited to, the various test methods and analysis of data to determine compliance to specified standards. These test methods will be physical, chemical, and statistical in nature. The Technician will also be responsible for performing certain environmental testing such as wastewater and stormwater. The Technician will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all equipment in the lab and the tracking and maintenance of various data collections. In addition, the Technician may be called upon to determine trends and present data to facility leadership team members in order to initiate appropriate actions. This position must respond to emergency situations on a 24/7 basis.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in chemistry or related scientific field
- Intermediate to advanced comprehension of chemistry, physics, and statistics.
- Advanced knowledge of safe chemical testing procedures
- Advanced knowledge of chemical data sheets
- Knowledge of safe handling of chemicals
- The ability to read and comprehend work instructions of a technical nature.
- The ability to operate laboratory equipment, electric, pneumatic, and hand tools.
- Excellent attendance record
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
- The ability to read and comprehend complex testing data.
